The state has compensated UAH 122 million to entrepreneurs who hired internally displaced persons. This was reported by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine. 

“Intensifying the situation in the labour market and increasing the rate of employment among the population are one of the key tasks for the Government. We encourage entrepreneurs to create jobs through the provision of state grants for business start-up and development. We expect that this will allow to create about 300 thousand jobs. We also pay compensation to employers for employing people who have moved from dangerous regions so that they can faster adapt to a new place. And we have already transferred UAH 122 million to entrepreneurs for the employment of more than 11 thousand internally displaced people. In addition, we are waiting for the parliament’s support for another initiative of ours to compensate businesses for the employment of certain categories of people, in particular young people for the first jobs, participants in hostilities and single parents,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

We remind you that since April, the Government has introduced a compensation program for employers for the employment of internally displaced persons – the state pays an entrepreneur UAH 6,500 during 2 months for each employed IDP.

According to the terms of the program, compensation is provided to the employer who has hired an IDP with a wage no less than the minimum one (UAH 6,500), is registered as a payer of a single contribution to the mandatory state social insurance, and has submitted tax reporting for Q4, 2021 or for the whole 2021 and is not a non-profit organization. 

To receive the funds, an employer must enter into an employment contract with an internally displaced person and register their data on the Diia Portal. After 5 days, the entrepreneur needs to submit an application for compensation together with documents confirming the payment of wages and deductions.
