Humanitarian demining of Ukrainian lands will be conducted using latest technologies – sappers will start using special anti-mine drones which will soon be delivered to Ukraine. First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and American investor Howard Buffett agreed on this during the meeting.

“We understand that the process of demining Ukrainian lands will drag on for years. Therefore, the Government is trying to speed it up as much as possible. We have agreed on the participation of Howard Buffett’s team in a long-term project on humanitarian demining of our lands. We are already working on innovative developments for this task. The Buffett Foundation has experience in this field, since it has been conducting similar projects in Colombia for many years. He also promised that he would systemically help Ukrainian agribusiness to get rid of the consequences of russian aggression," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, Howard Buffett said that he was very glad that it was the First Deputy Prime Minister who was in charge of demining Ukrainian territories. According to him, his foundation is ready to work together with the Ukrainian government and support government projects to significantly speed up humanitarian demining. As part of the cooperation, he promised to purchase demining machines as well as to use such innovative solutions as special demining drones in this process.

According to Howard Buffett, he is ready to help bring russia to justice for crimes that have caused damage to the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Several relevant lawsuits have already been sent to the international court.

In turn, Yuliia Svyrydenko reported that the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine had launched a special project to develop a methodology and scale the latest drone technology to speed up demining.

“Howard Buffett will take an active part in speeding up demining of Ukraine and will also use his contacts and opportunities to find like-minded people in the world who would join the process of humanitarian demining,” continued Yuliia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, she presented a Ukrposhta stamp to the American investor depicting a Ukrainian tractor pulling a trophy russian tank. In response to this, Howard Buffett said that he would like to reproduce it in real life. After all, he himself was a farmer for a long time.
