Vlasna Sprava (Own Business): from the beginning of 2024, more than 2,000 Ukrainians became winners of the programme and will receive micro-grants worth UAH 500 million

521 Ukrainians were recognized as winners of the fifth wave of the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) grant programme in 2024, they will receive UAH 124 million from the state to start or expand their business. Since the beginning of this year, more than 2,000 entrepreneurs, in whose business development the state invests half a billion hryvnias, have already become winners of the programme. In total, more than 15,000 Ukrainians have received grant support since the start of the programme. This was announced by Tetiana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

“Since the beginning of this year, we have already had more than 2,000 winners of the Vlasnsa Sprava (Own Business) programme, who will receive half a billion hryvnias worth of micro-grants from the state to start or develop their businesses. Almost 20% of them will open new companies, others will increase production volumes, expand the range of products and services. In addition, these entrepreneurs will create 4,400 new jobs in all regions of our country. In total, more than 15,000 Ukrainians have already received grant support for UAH 3.5 billion since the start of the programme. They have already returned over UAH 1 billion to the state in the form of paid taxes and fees to the budget,” Tetiana Berezhna said.

Among the recipients of fifth-wave microgrants, 57% are women, 33% are men, and 10% are legal entities. 73% of them have higher education. The largest number of grantees are from the Lviv oblast (56 people), Vinnytsia oblast (42 people), Kyiv oblast (40 people), Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (38 people) and Kyiv city (42 people). The vast majority of grant recipients plan to spend the micro-grant funds to purchase the equipment necessary for running a business.

The most popular areas in which the winners of the fifth wave will work are:

• wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles 185 people;

• temporary accommodation and catering – 84 persons;

• processing industry – 61 people.

As a reminder, under the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) grant programme, Ukrainians may receive a micro-grant from UAH 50 to 250 thousand. The funds may be spent on the purchase or leasing of equipment, the purchase of raw materials and materials, and the rental of premises. Both an active entrepreneur and a person without experience in such activity may receive a microgrant. A mandatory condition for providing funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant.

The eRobota Government project includes grant programmes aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity and job creation. In particular, these are micro-grant programmes for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, and greenhouse farming. Application for all areas of the eRobota programme is carried out through the Diia portal.
