Croatia will provide EUR 5 million for humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Another EUR 1.5 million has been pledged by the Spanish government for the same purpose. This was announced during the International Donors’ Conference on humanitarian demining in Ukraine, which is taking place in Croatia.

Representatives of more than 40 foreign countries – ministers of defense and foreign affairs, ambassadors and heads of foreign organizations – have gathered for the event. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

“Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, said that tomorrow the government of this country would approve the assistance of EUR 5 million for humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Similarly, Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain announced that Spain would provide EUR 1.5 million in support of humanitarian demining in Ukraine. I am grateful to our partners for their support, as humanitarian demining is one of the conditions for the recovery and further economic growth of our country,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

We remind that earlier, Ukraine and Croatia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in demining.
