Ministry of Economy: 5,800 entrepreneurs received UAH 23 billion in affordable loans in the first quarter of 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, 5,800 entrepreneurs received loans under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% programme totalling UAH 22.8 billion. 20% of these loans were received by businesses operating in the high-risk combat areas.

Last week, entrepreneurs received 682 such loans in the amount of UAH 2.6 billion. Since the launch of the programme in February 2020, 84,800 loans worth UAH 289.7 billion have been issued.

Since the beginning of 2024, entrepreneurs have taken out the most available loans to replenish working capital – UAH 10.4 billion, UAH 4.6 billion of loans were granted to businesses operating in the high-risk combat areas, UAH 4.3 billion of loans under the programme were granted to processing companies, and UAH 3.7 billion were granted to implement investment projects.

The most frequently lent companies under the programme are those operating in the following sectors:

  • agriculture (48%);
  • wholesale and retail trade (25%);
  • processing industry (17%).

Among the regions, the top regions in terms of the amount of loan agreements concluded are the Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava oblasts and the city of Kyiv.

As of today, 45 banks participate in the programme, with Privatbank (38,600), Oschadbank (13,100) and Raiffeisen Bank Aval (5,400) disbursing the largest number of loans since the programme’s launch.
