Ukraine and Poland reached an understanding on the transit of Ukrainian grain through the neighbouring country. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko following talks in Warsaw after the Polish government had decided to temporarily restrict imports and transit of agricultural goods from Ukraine through Poland.

We treat the problems our Polish colleagues have faced with the same attention as Poland treats our problems. Thus, we must respond promptly and effectively to this crisis situation. As a result of the talks, it was decided that the transit of Ukrainian agricultural goods through Poland will be unblocked on the night of Thursday 20 April to Friday 21 April this year,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Government is currently waiting for official communication from the Polish side on the technical aspects of transporting Ukrainian products through Poland.

As a reminder, the ban on the transit of Ukrainian grain through Poland was introduced last week because some Ukrainian agricultural products had accumulated in the country creating price competition for Polish farmers.
