Affordable Mortgage Program: How To Participate?
17.08.2022 | 13:42

The Government launches the first stage of the Affordable Mortgage program in October. Military personnel, employees of the security and defence sector, physicians, teachers, pedagogical workers and scientists of state and municipal ownership institutions will be able to participate. The application mechanism will be digitized and automated as much as possible.

Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, reported this in a column for the Economichna Pravda publication.

“The entire chain of procedures is digitized as much as possible; it allows automatically pulling in the necessary data about the applicant, quickly interact with banks, check information and completeness of data. All these things will save time and remove bureaucratic obstacles,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 70, who are solvent and do not have housing or own real estate of less than 52.5 sq. m (additional 21 sq. m for each subsequent family member) and are not sanctioned can participate in the program.

To do this, they should act according to the following algorithm:

  • Submit an application through Diia (currently this possibility is technically under development and will be presented later).
  • Get answers from banks in Diia.
  • Choose housing that is expected to be purchased on the terms of a preferential mortgage.
  • Enter into agreements with the bank and the apartment sales and purchase agreement.

We would like to remind that the second stage of the Affordable Mortgage program will begin in 2023 and all Ukrainians will be able to take part in it by registering a housing loan at 7% per annum.

Previously, Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, spoke in detail about the terms and conditions of the program for military personnel, law enforcement officers, physicians, pedagogical workers and scientists, and for other Ukrainians.
