Vlasna Sprava: 8000 Ukrainians to receive UAH 2 billion in grants to start or expand business

Власна справа: 8000 українців отримають 2 млрд грн грантів на старт або розвиток бізнесу

Since its launch, 8,000 Ukrainians have already become winners of the "Own Business" grant programme and will receive nearly UAH 2 billion in grants from the state to start and expand their businesses. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

"According to the results of the sixteenth wave of applications for microgrants, 301 Ukrainians were recognised as winners. They will receive UAH 71.8 million to start or expand their business. Since the launch of the Vlasna Sprava programme, we have already had 8,000 winners who will receive financial support from the state worth almost UAH 2 billion. 90% of them have already received funds to their accounts and are implementing their business projects. The total amount of funds paid out as grants is UAH 1.6 billion," said Tetiana Berezhna.

Among the recipients of the sixteenth wave of microgrants, 57% are women and 43% are men. 75% of them have higher education. Most grantees are from Lviv (47 people), Rivne (43 people), Ivano-Frankivsk (29 people), Kyiv (21 people), and Dnipro (19 people) oblasts. The vast majority of grantees plan to use the microgrant funds to purchase equipment necessary for running their business.

The most popular areas in which the winners of the sixteenth wave will work are:

  • Wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair - 118 people;
  • Processing industry - 57 people;
  • Temporary accommodation and catering - 36 people.

As a reminder, Ukrainians can receive a microgrant from UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000 under the Vlasna Sprava grant programme. The funds can be used to purchase or lease equipment, buy raw materials and supplies, and rent premises. Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no experience of such activities can receive a microgrant. A prerequisite for receiving funds is the creation of 1 to 2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant. Ukrainians who received microgrants in 2022 created about 8,000 new jobs.

This year, UAH 1.8 billion has been budgeted for the Vlasna Sprava programme, which will allow us to issue about 10,000 microgrants.

The Government's eRobota project includes grant programmes aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship and job creation. These include microgrants for starting or expanding your own business, grants for the establishment and development of processing enterprises, and grants for planting gardens and viticulture and greenhouse farming. Applications for all areas of the eRobota programme are submitted through the Diia portal.
