Туреччина-0310

Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, took part in the working visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Türkiye, during which the issues of strengthening cooperation between the countries in all areas were discussed.

As part of the visit, Yuliia Svyrydenko, together with Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, Andrii Sybiha, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, and Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Türkiye, met with His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

“During the meeting, they expressed gratitude to His All Holiness for supporting the Ukrainian people with prayers and humanitarian aid since the first days of the large-scale invasion.
We also continue to develop the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Ukraine in the economic sphere – at a meeting with Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, in Istanbul, we outlined specific steps that will allow Ukrainian and Turkish businesses to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation. Last year, we had a strong increase in trade turnover between countries, making up to USD 7.4 billion. Trade in services increased to USD 1.14 billion: the import of services in 2021 increased more than twice compared to 2020, and the export increased by more than a quarter. Now we have a decline due to the war, but the governments of Ukraine and Türkiye are working to at least restore pre-war trade volumes,” Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

At the meeting with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the parties also discussed strengthening of cooperation in the economic sphere. In particular, it was about speeding up the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Türkiye, measures to help Ukrainian business in the conditions of war.

“We received strong signals regarding support for Ukraine, recognition of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, Türkiye’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and participate in the restoration of Ukraine,” Yuliia Svyrydenko summarized.
