The Verkhovna Rada has simplified the conditions for doing business in the area of telecommunications
18.09.2019 | 13:56 | Directorate for relations with state bodies and publicOn September 18, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law aimed at reducing an excessive administrative pressure on business in the area of telecommunications. The adopted draft law is intended, in particular, to harmonize the provisions of the Law of Ukraine on Licensing of Economic Activities and the Law on Telecommunications.
“The adopted law is an important step towards facilitating business access to the telecommunications market. At the same time, it helps to maintain quality of customer services. Due to adoption of this law, we will create a favorable environment for doing an existing and developing a new business in the area of telecommunications”, said Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Tymofiy Mylovanov.
According to the Law of Ukraine on Licensing of Economic Activities, the activities in the area of telecommunications have not been licensed anymore since January 1, 2018. Accordingly, the draft law adopted by the Council excludes from the applicable Law of Ukraine on Telecommunications the provisions on the need for a licensing procedure when starting own business in the area of telecommunications. At the same time, the document proposes to replace licensing of certain types of activities in the area of telecommunications with notification of business entities of the commencement of activities.
“By adopting this Law, the Parliament has eliminated the discrepancies in the legislation and created the conditions for more active development of the telecommunications market. Now, there is no need to obtain license for telecommunication services, it is enough to notify thereof a respective authority, and this Law brought regulation in the area of telecommunications in compliance with the EU standards”, said Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Dmytro Romanovych.

eRobota: The state invested over UAH 7.3 billion through grants in business development
Almost 15,000 entrepreneurs received grants to start or develop a business under the Government’s eRobota project. In general, the state has invested UAH 7.3 billion in entrepreneurship through grants since the start of the project.
