The Government allocates almost UAH 565 mln to pay assistance to people affected by blowing up of Kakhovka HPP

The Government has approved a decision to allocate UAH 565 million from the state budget reserve fund to Mykolaiv and Kherson Oblast State Administrations to provide financial assistance to the affected population as a result of the Russian Federation's blowing up of Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam. The relevant order was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 16 June 2023.

"The Government has decided to provide a one-off payment of UAH 5,000 per person from the state budget reserve fund to all those affected by the Russian Federation's blowing up of Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

According to the Kherson Oblast Military Administration (OMA), 49 settlements in the oblast were flooded as a result of blowing up of Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam by Russian invaders on 6 June 2023, including 35 settlements in the de-occupied territory and 14 settlements in the temporarily occupied territory. 3,821 houses were flooded in the liberated area of the oblast alone. The number of registered citizens in this territory of the oblast is 11,1941.

The authorities of Mykolaiv OMA state that 31 settlements with a population of about 471,000 people are partially flooded as a result of the emergency in Mykolaiv oblast. The inspection revealed that 542 households in 18 settlements were flooded. The number of people affected by the flooding is 1,035.

According to the Government's order, the funds will be distributed as follows: Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration (for Mykolaiv OMA) - UAH 5.175 million, Kherson Oblast State Administration (for Kherson OMA) - UAH 559.7 million.
