The Interdepartmental Working Group (IWG) on the Implementation of the State Sanctions Policy reviewed and recommended for submission to the Government the introduction of sanctions against the newly established Zaporizhzhia NPP Operating Organization JSC (russia) and against the leaders of russian youth organizations that support aggression.

The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the IWG.

“russia continues not only the war against Ukraine but also a “special predatory operation”: the occupiers moved grain, metal and equipment from the temporarily occupied territories. And now they are trying to steal Zaporizhzhia NPP. But we will act accordingly harshly to any attempts to misappropriate the property of the Ukrainian state,” explains Yuliia Svyrydenko, Head of IWG, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

The draft order on the introduction of sanctions against the “Zaporizhzhia NPP Operating Organization” was developed by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. After its finalization, it will be submitted to the Government for consideration, and then to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

For reference: Zaporizhzhia NPP Operating Organization JSC (russia) was established on 3 October 2022. Its founder is Concern Rosenergoatom JSC, which is part of the Rosatom state corporation.

Moreover, at the IWG meeting, a package of sanctions against the heads of youth organizations of the terrorist state was recommended for consideration by the Government, with subsequent submission to the National Security and Defense Council for consideration. In particular, organizations that have an overt military and propaganda nature of their activities.

The package of sanctions against youth leaders prepared by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine will be submitted to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for consideration in the near future. There are 33 people on the list.

We remind you that earlier the Government offered the National Security and Defense Council to consider the application of sanctions against the Rosatom russian state corporation and also against more than 350 its associate legal entities. These are enterprises and organizations that are part of Rosatom and their subsidiaries located both in the territory of the aggressor state and abroad. The relevant draft decision was previously considered at the IWG meeting.
