SE “Professional Procurement” will conduct procurement for the World Bank’s funds as part of a pilot project, - Nadiya Bihun
24.05.2024 | 14:12 | Section for Public and Mass Media RelationsProcurement by public customers funded by foreign donors is increasingly moving to the ProZorro electronic system, which increases their efficiency and competitiveness. Currently, the procurement for the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine funded by the World Bank will be conducted in ProZorro by specialists of the State Enterprise “Professional Procurement”. This was announced by Nadiya Bihun, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Procurement at tenders and under framework agreements through the State Enterprise “Professional Procurement” has already demonstrated its effectiveness, as it saves not only money but also the customer’s time. From now on, SE “Professional Procurement” will carry out procurement at the expense and in accordance with the rules of the World Bank as part of their joint project with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. All procedures will be announced in the ProZorro system. This should increase their efficiency and competitiveness and reduce the burden on the relevant central executive body. We are convinced that procurement should be handled by professionals, while the ministry’s employees should focus on their immediate tasks of policy-making.
This should serve as a signal to other international partners of our country to use the ProZorro electronic system more actively. The World Bank was the first to use ProZorro in its procurement. To date, more than 300 such tenders have been announced in the electronic system, and we expect this experience to help us attract other stakeholders to use our electronic system and at the same time improve the processes and functionality of ProZorro,” explained Nadiya Bihun.
The current cooperation between the Government and the World Bank is part of the project “Modernization of the Social Support System”. Its goal is to improve social assistance and the quality of social services for low-income families in Ukraine.

Government approves draft law on ratification of the Framework Agreement for obtaining soft loans worth USD 2.1 billion from the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Draft Law of Ukraine On Ratification of the Framework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Korea on Loans from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) for 2024-2029. The adoption of this bill is necessary for the entry into force of the Framework Agreement on EDCF Loans for 2024-2029 in the amount of USD 2.1 billion, signed on 19 April 2024 in Washington, DC. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed the decision at its session on 4 June 2024.
