of Ukraine – EU trade relations current state[1]

The European Union is Ukraine's main trading partner. According to the results of 2024,
the share of trade in goods with the EU amounted to 53.8% of the total trade of Ukraine. Thus, in January-September 2025 it amounted 50.2%, while in the same period of 2024 – 54.0%.

Total Trade   2024: $ 60.5 billion (↑5.6%).

Turnover       9 months 2025: $ 45.0 billion (↑1.7%).

Exports           2024: $ 24.8 billion (↑0.5%):

  Cereals – 15.8% (↓14.4%);

  Fats and oils – 13.6% (↑13.1%);

  Oil seeds and fruits – 9.7% (↑24.0%);

  Electric machines – 8.4% (↑1.5%);

  Ferrous metals – 8.1% (↓7.3%);

  Ores and slags – 6.6% (↓1.3%);

  Wood and articles of wood – 4.8% (↓7.5%);

  Residues and waste from the food industries – 3.3% (↑1.8%).   

            9 months 2025: $ 17.0 billion (↓7.7%):

 Fats and oils – 15.1% (↑3.1%);

 Electric machines – 10.0% (↑9.2%);

 Ferrous metals – 9.3% (↓0.2%);

 Cereals – 9.3% (↓44.8%);

 Oil seeds and fruits – 6.4% (↓34.7%);

 Wood and articles of wood – 6.3% (↑17.5%);

 Ores and slags – 5.5% (↓27.4%);

 Furniture – 4.0% (↑11.0%).

Imports      2024: $ 35.7 billion (↑9.4%):

Energy materials – 17.1% (↓7.6%);

Ground transport facilities excluding railway – 10.4% (↑1.1%);

Nuclear reactors, boilers, machines – 9.3% (↑23.4%);

Electric machines – 5.9% (↑27.7%);

Pharmaceutical products – 4.9% (↑14.6%);

Plastics and polymeric materials – 4.4% (↑1.0%);

Other chemical products – 1.9% (↑2.5%);

Fertilizers – 1.8% (↓9.3%).

9 months 2025: $ 28.0 billion (↑8.4%):

Energy materials – 16.6% (↓0.6%);

Ground transport facilities excluding railway – 10.9% (↑12.6%);

Nuclear reactors, boilers, machines – 9.5% (↑10.5%);

Electric machines – 9.1% (↑89.2%);

Pharmaceutical products – 4.6% (↑3.6%);

Plastics and polymeric materials – 4.3% (↑3.8%);

Fertilizers – 2.3% (↑23.0%);

Other chemical products – 2.2% (↑13.1%)

Balance     2024: - $ 10.9 billion.

         9 months 2025: - $ 11.0 billion.
