The Minister of Economic Affairs of Ukraine, Bohdan
Danylyshyn, has held a meeting with the heads of
economic departments of the AR of Crimea, regional administrations, Kyiv and
Sevastopol Municipal State Administrations.
First Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, Sergiy Romanyuk, and Deputy Ministers of Economic Affairs Victor Panteleyenko, Irina Kryuchkova and Myhaylo Pozhivanov had taken part in the meeting, as well.
Participants of the meeting have discussed anti-recessionary
arrangements, introduced by the Government, and the situation, existing in the
regions.
Furthermore, participants of the meeting have discussed the progress and prospects of development of Ukraine in
2008 and 2009, with due consideration of the latest trends in the economy; made their suggestions as for diminution of adverse effects of economic and financial turmoil; formulated joint short- and long-term strategy of efficient and
coordinated work on national and regional levels, focused on mitigation of
adverse trends and creation of conditions favorable for post-crisis development.
The head of economic department of Ukraine had pointed out, that, during recent months, the Government had developed and validated a number of legally enforceable enactments, focused on:
stabilization of situation, existing in financial,
including banking, domain; prevention of expansive growth of unemployment;
increase in volume of exports and budgetary receipts; attraction of investments
to the economy of Ukraine.
A
special attention had been paid to implementation of projects regarding
organization and holding in Ukraine
of final part of European Football Championship, EURO-2102.
B. Danylyshyn has told, as well, that among top priority anti-recessionary programme-based objectives are:
macroeconomic stabilization; creation of framework conditions favorable for introduction of investment and innovative pattern of development;
full utilization of regional potential of Ukraine.
In addition, the Minister had made a note of necessity to: renew and improve normal operation of financial markets of Ukraine and restore banking system credibility; minimize adverse effects of crisis on the population
through the implementation of balanced and responsible social policy; resume
economic advancement by granting support to real sector of the economy; continue
integration of Ukraine into the world’s economic territory, with due
consideration of Ukraine’s status of WTO member country; establish Free Trade
Zone between Ukraine and EU.
According
to B. Danylyshyn, not only the state, but also the
regions, shall be engaged in mitigation of crisis after-effects.
“Only through consolidation and concentration of efforts of all executive agencies we may be able to settle that many-sided problem”, - the Minister has stated.
