In line with objectives and priorities stated in the Ukraine-2020 Strategy, Programme of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as well as the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (hereinafter referred to as “the Ministry”) has developed a number of improvements in the field of IP protection, mainly focused on required institutional transformation.
The UK Government is providing technical assistance to the Ministry within the framework of the Good Governance Fund Programme aiming to enhance efficiency and transparency of the Ukrainian IP system.
Under the technical assistance of experts the Ministry will identify flaws in the current operating model of existing IP institutions, develop a new operating model according to good international practices and agree on the road-map to achieve the targets.
The Ministry expects to start implementing necessary changes to the existing IP system at the beginning of 2017.
