Ukraine and Argentina deepen cooperation in defence, energy and infrastructure sectors, – Yuliia Svyrydenko

Ukraine and Argentina are discussing the possibility of deepening cooperation in a number of strategic areas, including defence, as well as helping our country restore energy and civilian infrastructure damaged by russian missile attacks. This was discussed during the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation headed by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Religions of Argentina Diana Mondino.

"One of the key topics of the meeting was to discuss opportunities to deepen cooperation in the defence sector, including the creation of joint defence enterprises, the purchase of artillery ammunition and gunpowder, and even investments in Argentine arms companies. We expect productive meetings on this topic in the coming days. In addition, we raised the issue of russia's systematic shelling of our energy infrastructure and the possibilities for Argentina to help restore it. Our systems are partly similar, so Argentina can help Ukraine with some spare parts," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

The meeting also discussed russia's systematic destruction of Ukraine's agricultural storage infrastructure.

"As a result of such shelling, our country needs equipment for temporary storage of grain, in particular, in silo bags, which Argentina is famous for producing. That is why we invited Argentine companies to join investment projects in Ukraine in the agricultural sector. We also hope to increase trade in agricultural products, including exports of Ukrainian nitrogen fertilisers to Argentina," Yuliia Svyrydenko continued.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the Ukrainian Formula for Peace, which was previously presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We have invited the leaders of Argentina to join the First Peace Summit as one of the leaders in the implementation of the UN Charter under the Peace Formula. Argentina can focus on such areas as nuclear security, food security and the return of Ukrainian prisoners and children," summed up Yuliia Svyrydenko.
