Main tasks of the department include:

ensuring the regulation and implementation of state policy in the area of public procurements by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine;

development and submission to the executives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine of draft regulatory and legal acts in the area of public procurements in accordance with the established procedure;

conducting the analysis of operation of public procurement system;

preparing and submission to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Accounting Chamber of annual reports containing the results of analysis of operation of public procurement system;

summarizing the public procurement practices, including international ones;

studying, generalizing and disseminating the global experience in public procurements;

ensuring the operation of the information resource of the Designated Authority;

replenishment of the information resource of the Designated Authority;

interaction with the public on the improvement of public procurement system;

organization of meetings and workshops on public procurements;

international cooperation in the area of public procurements;

providing generalized recommendations as to the application of public procurement legislation;

providing gratuitous recommendations as to public procurements on the information resource of the Designated Authority;

development of exemplary training programs on the organization and implementation of public procurements;

cooperation with public authorities and non-government organizations in preventing corruption in the area of public procurements;

informing the public about policy and rules of public procurements;

preparing the decisions on authorization of electronic platforms;

coordination, within the scope of competence, of the activity of state enterprise “Prozorro” and state institution “Professional Procurements”.
